MSN Data Download
MSN Money allows a simple way to type a URL into a browser address bar and view data for a number of stocks.
For example, this string: http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=GB:SSE,GB:VOD,GB:LLOY provides data for SSE, Vodafone and Lloyds.Note that data is only returned for valid stock symbols. Invalid symbols are ignored
09Jan15.... Warning! Looks like this site now has problems, often returning data from the New York Stock Exchange instead of the London Stock Exchange. I'll review it in a few months time to see if MSN has resolved the issues

Here is an Excel spreadsheet with a macro to demonstrate a way to read a list of symbols on one sheet, and download the MSN data to another sheet

Another MSN source of data is: http://quotes.money.msn.com/dynamic?symbol=gb:sse,gb:vod,gb:adm
This is currently being evaluated but looks interesting, providing data very quickly in a nicely-structured XML format
09Jan15... MSN have now discontinued this service. Oh Well!
